This requires an individual able to work in the fast-paced, design-build environment of tanks and tank-related structures for the municipal water and industrial markets. After an initial on-site training period, the position may be done remotely, if desired.\nDescription of Essential Duties:\nProvide engineering for elevated water towers and above ground tanks. Analyze/design steel plate and reinforced concrete structures. Interpret geotechnical reports to select and design complex foundations.\nApply customer specifications, design standards, and building codes including: AWWA D107 & D100, API, IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.\nDirect and oversee detailing work; prepare & seal calculations, drawings, and specifications.\nPerform post-design services for troubleshooting and problem resolution.\nProvide specialist support and interact closely with other departments: QA/QC, Safety, Construction Operations, Project Management, Procurement.\nWork with estimators to prepare bid designs; review vendor submittals.\nThe above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. These may be varied based on specific requirements of a location or project)\nBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.\nPassed Fundamentals of Engineering with the ability to obtain Professional Engineering license within 4-5 years of issuance of EIT.\nStructural and mechanical drawing development and review.\nHigh level of proficiency in 2D drafting software, particularly AutoCAD.\n3D / Revit experience, preferred.\nProficient personal computer skills.\nMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering, preferred.\nProfessional Engineer license, required. Focus in Structural Engineering, preferred.\nDesign-Build project experience, preferred.\nWorking knowledge of codes & standards: AWWA, API, IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC, preferred.\nFamiliarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferred.\nStrong understanding of MATLAB and MathCAD, preferred.\nPhysical Demands:\n(The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.)\nSedentary position requiring extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are required.
