Administrative Assistant II The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and general clerical support to the management and staff within a specific division, department, or unit. Job duties include greeting, screening, and assisting office visitors in a professional and welcoming manner; supervising student workers by prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities; assisting undergraduate students with course registration, including processing enrollment overrides; ensuring compliance with HB2504 and HB1027 requirements, including tracking deadlines and documentation; supporting the preparation and administration of end-of-semester student evaluations; providing administrative support to the scholarship committee, including coordination and documentation; managing and updating departmental social media accounts and website content; sourcing, developing, and coordinating marketing materials for events and recruitment initiatives; taking an active leadership role in planning and executing annual departmental events; supporting faculty advisors and activities of Computer Science student organizations; and performing additional duties as assigned. Required qualifications include demonstrated proficiency in English, including strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills; exceptional organizational abilities with a high level of attention to detail; proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing events; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel; experience managing and publishing website and social media content; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse environments while exercising sound independent judgment; and a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of university and higher education administrative processes; experience processing course overrides using Banner; familiarity with HB2504 and HB1027 compliance requirements and procedures; experience supervising, training, and directing student workers; demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead projects with minimal supervision; and proficiency with Texas State systems, including SAP, Banner, CatsWeb, and Logi.
