This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and solving problems in a fast-paced engineering environment.\n\nUnlike traditional production roles, this position requires working with incomplete documentation, evolving designs, and limited work instructions. Successful candidates are comfortable handling ambiguity, adapting to changing priorities, and collaborating closely with engineers to bring new products from concept to reality.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild prototype assemblies, subassemblies, robots, fixtures, and test equipment\nPerform mechanical and electrical assembly work using engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation\nTroubleshoot assembly issues and identify practical solutions with minimal guidance\nSupport testing, inspections, repairs, and rework activities\nWork closely with engineering teams to support product development and validation efforts\nProvide feedback on build processes, manufacturability, and design improvements\nFollow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area\nRequired Qualifications\nStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude\nExperience using common hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and schematics\nExperience assembling, troubleshooting, or repairing mechanical and electrical systems\nAbility to work independently with little to no work instructions\nComfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment\nStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting prototype, R&D, manufacturing, or engineering build environments\nRobotics, automotive, or electromechanical assembly experience\nWire harness assembly and soldering experience\nExperience with actuators, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment\nFamiliarity with CAD models and engineering documentation\nExperience using shop equipment\nWhat Makes Someone Successful\nThrives in environments where processes and documentation are still evolving\nCan figure things out independently and move projects forward with limited direction\nEnjoys hands-on building and troubleshooting\nAdaptable, resourceful, and willing to learn new skills\nWorks effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams\n\nJob Type & Location\n\nThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of South San Francisco, CA.\n\nPay and Benefits\n\nThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.\n\nIndividual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.\n\nEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
