Your success is our success.\r\nDescription\r\nPerforms duties to lay-up a variety of composite parts.\r\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nWorks from work orders, specifications, blueprints, oral and written instructions to lay-up composites such as fiberglass, core material and prepreg. Lays-up according to ply orientation of warp, weft, ribbon and fiber direction, with lap and butt joint standards, in a controlled atmosphere and contaminate free environment.\r\nRequires the ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations where standard lay-up methods are available, while independent action is also required to use these standards to comply with the different parts configuration and geometry. May work under the guidance of other layup techs.\r\nObtains specified materials and tools needed.\r\nCuts plys with the use of templates and tools.\r\nUses hand pressure and small tools to form and stretch lay-up, while avoiding wrinkles, bridging, air bubbles, gaps, contaminations, etc.\r\nAbility to apply basic bagging operations for completions of standard operations in lay-up process.\r\nIdentifies parts for next operation.\r\nUse of tools such as scissors, knives, pushing tools, markers, hammers, and other small tools.\r\nMaintains a clean working environment.\r\nResponsible for own work.\r\nPerforms other related duties.\r\nQualifications\r\nEDUCATION\r\nMust have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification. Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred.\r\nEXPERIENCE\r\n6 months of composite lay-up experience or related composite experience.\r\nWorking Conditions\r\nWorking conditions may involve dirt, dust and grease. Could be exposed to fumes and sharp objects and loud noise. Exposure to heat. Safety shoes could be required.\r\nTextron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S export control laws and regulations.
