POSITION: MRF Maintenance Mechanic I (Evening Shift - 4:00 PM Start Time)LOCATION: CARTS – Fresno, CAREPORTS TO: Processing ManagerSALARY RANGE: $19.00 - $25.00/ per hour, DOECOMPANY OVERVIEW:Caglia Environmental is a family-owned and operated company with a proud legacy of over 80 years in the Central Valley. Our team plays a vital role in helping to build cleaner, greener communities, and we're always looking for motivated individuals who want to make a meaningful impact through their work.BASIC FUNCTIONS:Perform the routine inspections and maintenance of the sorting lines to ensure safe and efficient operations as directed by the Lead MRF Maintenance Mechanic. Troubleshoot and resolved any equipment issues with the equipment and complete any facility maintenance tasks as directed by the Lead MRF Maintenance Mechanic. Routinely collaborate with other departments to improve processes and safety standards at the facility.PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on conveyors, screens, balers, and other machinery used in the Troubleshooting and resolution of these issue can include; mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.Conduct preventative maintenance on all sorting equipment to reduce the risk of equipment failure and minimize downtime.Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to improve efficiency and productivity.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory through the provided company software.Collaborate with operations staff to address equipment-related concerns, improve process efficiency and mitigate environmental safety issues.Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery within the facility.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks including but not limited to LOTO (lockout-tag out) procedures, wearing proper PPE, and flowing company policy on heavy equipment use.Regularly participate in safety meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by Lead MRF Mechanic or Processing Manager.REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):High School diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum three plus years prior experience in industrial maintenance, mechanic shop or fabrication shop.Experience in a Material Recovery Facility or similar environment preferred.Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to lift 50lbs.Ability and willingness to work in outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, odors, noise, and other environmental factors.Ability to follow directions and learn new tasks.
