This position is ideal for a backend engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with established codebases, and ensuring production systems remain reliable and secure.\n\nApplication Sustainment & Engineering\nTroubleshoot and resolve software defects in production applications built with Go (Golang), React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.\nDevelop, test, and implement software patches and enhancements in accordance with the customer's release schedule.\nMaintain and improve automated tests to protect existing application functionality.\nAnalyze unfamiliar codebases and implement changes safely without disrupting production operations.\nMaintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system runbooks.\nParticipate in an on-call support rotation following onboarding.\nRequirements:\n3+ years of backend software engineering experience, including production development using Go (Golang) and SQL.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing production applications.\nExperience working with unfamiliar or complex codebases and implementing changes safely.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with Amazon ECS or Kubernetes.\n\nFamiliarity with AWS GovCloud environments.\n\nActive Secret security clearance.\n\nEligibility for a Tier 5 background investigation.\n\nWork Location and Schedule\n\nLocation: Hybrid. Reston, VA headquarters and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required.\n\nSchedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Eastern.\n\nDevelopment Schedule: Two-week sprints with a customer demonstration each sprint.\n\nTravel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.\n\nSecurity Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
