As a team we are passionate about contributing towards the long-term sustainability of the industry across the globe.The OpportunityTo support our continued growth, we are looking for a commercially minded Head of Operations & Sustainability to deliver our operational strategy with outstanding quality across the supply chain, while helping us scale us sustainably. This is a key strategic position in the management team, owning demand forecasting, productions, inventory management and increasing profitability. You will thrive on finding new and more efficient ways of working, through cost and time saving initiatives, playing a critical role in shaping our operations as we scale.About YouYou are an operations superstar looking for your next challenge. You’ll have experience across procurement, demand planning and supplier relationships, with a passion for sustainability. You are proficient at data analysis and enthusiastic about learning new skills and systems. You have excellent attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills, managing productions, meeting our fulfilment targets and delivering an excellent quality product. You’ll manage a growing operations team to drive efficiencies across the business and work with the wider team to integrate sustainability into everything we do.ResponsibilitiesInventory & Demand Forecasting:Closely work with sales team and order data platforms for demand forecasting across product portfolioTranslate forecasts into robust production schedules with suppliers and contract packers in line with demand, stock level targets and cash flowOptimise inventory levels and continuously improve planning accuracyOwn our inventory management system and work with our financial team to ensure its alignment with our accounting softwareManage strategic warehousing decisions balancing operational efficiency and risk mappingProcurement & ProductionManage all procurement and logistics across the supply chain from raw materials to contract packer, optimising unit cost, lead times, reliability and sustainabilityManage all productions, liaising with wineries, logistics partners, dry goods suppliers and contract packersImplement robust just-in-time practicesBuild and maintain strong long-term supplier relationships, ensuring quality, authenticity and timely supplyCollaborate with team members on new product development, from sourcing and design to product delivery and support of launch planningEnsure compliance with legal requirements of the markets in which we operate and plan for future legislative changesSustainabilityCollect data from our suppliers to determine supply chain improvements that reduce the carbon intensity of our finished productsImplement our sustainability strategy and lead on annual impact reportingLead on sustainability certifications (B Corp & Positive Luxury) and sustainability complianceLead on maintaining organic certificationGeneralCreate a frequent reporting structure to ensure SLT are well informed in strategic decision makingContinuously improve supply chain processes to support efficiency and scalingOversee UK operations to deliver on time, in full targets across the businessManage our overhead costs alongside our cost of sales to improve financial marginsDevelop supply chain resilience through strong risk managementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, customers and partnersCollaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations and finance to align priorities and data managementSkillsConsiderable experience in operations, supply chain or production roles, ideally within a fast-growing supplier or consumer brandsAmbition to lead and build a team in a fast-growing scale upCalm under pressure with strong problem-solving skillsStrong demand planning experienceStrong data analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skillsClear communication skills and strong relationship building across internal and external stakeholdersExcellent time management and organisational skillsAbility to be flexible in a start-up environment and wear many hatsFast learner that can adapt to different operation management software, with preference for experience in UnleashedEnthusiasm for the world of food & drink (bonus for existing wine knowledge, but not prerequisite)Remuneration & Benefits£60,000-£70,000 per annum depending on experienceUnlimited holidayFlexible working hours – core working hours are 10am-4pm, so you can choose working hours to suit youPrivate Vitality health care with benefitsPension contributionsWine tasting and wine themed experiencesPaid volunteering daysPaid WSET Level 2 courseRegular team socialsModern central Bath officeWe are an inclusive employerCanned Wine Group is for everyone and every role is open to applications from all sections of society.
