The qualified candidate will work hand-in-hand with technical and program management leadership along with various external stakeholders, to help design and implement AWS Resiliency and Recovery capabilities including cross-AZ recovery procedures, infrastructure automation, and automated failover orchestration. This position will require experience across multiple System Engineering and architecture domains with a focus on standing up and maintaining cloud environments, and the deployment of custom code, COTS, and GOTS to those environments with a Geospatial focus.\nResponsibilities:\nThis position involves systems engineering activities that support building and delivering new and innovative systems to implement analytics, exploitation, production and dissemination using web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies.\nAnalyze current system(s) architecture as well as service and systems dependencies from a full-stack perspective (Platform, Service, Code and Server) perspective\nIdentify and communicate use cases and implementation options where existing system availability and resiliency can be improved\nImprove mission assurance, reduce operational risk, and enhance continuity of operations during AWS infrastructure disruptions.\nCollaborate with other program technical leadership on the system architecture roadmap and backlog aligned to customer’s technology strategy and vision.\nDecompose requirements, use cases, and need statements into epics and features with clearly defined acceptance criteria that will be assigned to agile development teams\nAssist in designing and documenting solutions to enhance ICAM service adoption throughout the customer agency\nExecute analysis of alternatives (AoA) and prototypes to determine the design of new system features and capabilities, then author white papers on your findings\nManage the system requirements and maintain requirements and interface control documents\nCreate and communicate design artifacts to the team to ensure applications and services are built to support the business and architecture objectives\nCommunicate architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies to executive management\nCore Qualifications:\nRequires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 + years of prior relevant experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree\nMust currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance, with ability to obtain SCI and CI Poly\nExperience optimizing and managing AWS/cloud infrastructure cost including storage, compute, and database\nExperience with Windows and Linux\nDirect experience with AWS core architecture and services\nExperience/background knowledge of DevOps COTS capabilities and implementation to Cloud\nExperience with System (hardware, software and networking) Design and Architecture.\nUnderstanding of agile SW development methodologies\nExperience developing a backlog and technical roadmap\nExperience with disaster recovery (ITDR) and data retention\nExperience as a systems engineer or architect\nExcellent communication skills\nExperience briefing stakeholders at all levels\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAn active TS/SCI with a Polygraph\nDD8570 compliance\nExperience with technologies such as WMS, WFS, KML\nExperience with AWS architecture best practices, resiliency capabilities and services\nExperience with AWS EKS\nExperience writing, maintaining, and describing architecture diagrams\nExperience optimizing Software deployments and reducing downtime, for example implementing a blue/green strategy\nTechnical certifications including Microsoft and/or AWS\nDirect experience with DevOps deployments to cloud environments GITLAB\nAbout D2 Government Solutions\nD2GS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
