Hotel Maintenance Engineer

WE ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual, with great time management and organizational skills who pays attention to detail. Must be able to problem solve and troubleshoot to resolve guest issues that may arise and respond to emergencies. Must be able to convey information and ideas. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work closely with the front desk and housekeeping supervisors assisting themwith concerns or needed repairs. Check daily maintenance log for rooms out of order or in need of repair –take necessary action Review the front desk pass-through log for the previous day, checking formaintenance-related items that need to be fixed. Check all equipment the guests will be experiencing: Ice machine trays and makers; ensure that the dispenser button worksproperly. Walk property checking for burned-out lights, trash, etc.. twice daily (AMand afternoon) Check with the maintenance manager and housekeeping supervisor foradditional concerns or repairs. Walk the parking lot to remove trash and review landscaping. Complete scheduled maintenance for the day. Additional tasks may include: (Some training will be available) Painting Minor plumbing Minor electrical work Minor Furniture repair & touchup Assist housekeeping with deep cleaning of rooms Stock housekeeping storage rooms Assist with pool area: clean and organize on a daily basis All other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or similar Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Must be proficient in Windows operating systems company-approved spreadsheets and word processing. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. EDUCATION: High school diploma PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand; use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, climb or balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
