Join us and be part of a legacy built on excellence!Position Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic will construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Conducts preventative maintenance and identifies parts for replacement in our Tacoma Foundry location.Primary Responsibilities:Performing repairs, modifications, and new parts installations on existing equipmentCarrying out preventive maintenance on equipment per the schedule and work instructions providedParticipating in the installation of new plant equipmentRepairing and installing pneumatics, hydraulics, and structural framingMaintaining required record files and maintenance logsUtilizing proper tools necessary to perform maintenance & repairsUnderstand and follow Lock-out Tag-out, Confined space and Fall protection policiesKeep areas clean and practice good housekeeping in work areasQualifications:2 years experience as an industrial Maintenance MechanicPrevious vocational or technical college course work preferredExperience:Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, and carpentry on production machinery and facilitiesWelding and fabrication and use of plasma and cutting equipment experienceElectrical and PLC knowledge is highly preferredPrevious training in HazMat and Spill Prevention is a plusSkills and Knowledge:Ability to complete necessary paperwork including work orders for preventative maintenanceAbility to read a tape measure and do basic math including fractions requiredAbility to use hand and power toolsAbility to troubleshoot equipment problems requiredAbility to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and structural diagrams requiredPhysical Requirements:Must have the ability to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motionsMust have the ability to change between sitting, standing, and kneeling positionsMust have the ability to twist, stoop, bend, and stand in the performance of job dutiesMust have the ability to climb ladders or work at heights periodicallyMust have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionallyMust have the ability to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shiftMust have good vision and depth perceptionMust be able to wear required personal protective equipmentMust be able to withstand hot and cold temperaturesSchedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 3:30PM or 2:00 PM - 10:30 PMPay Range: $23.31 - $35.50 per hour (depending on experience) *swing shift differential*Why join our team at Vulcan Metals Corp?
