Financial Planning Associate - Wealth Management

Our firm is looking to hire a Financial Planning Associate to support the advisory team, to nurture long-term needs of firm clients, and to actively participate in the advanced planning process. In addition to building your technical mastery, you will anticipate needs, resolve problems, and follow through on agreed upon deliverables. You will provide consistent, accurate and timely results with research, development of work product, meeting preparation, meeting attendance and note-taking, occasional meeting contribution, reporting, analysis, as well as the inputting of data into the financial planning tools. You will follow the highest standard of business and professional ethics, as well as all legal and regulatory requirements.You are an excellent communicator that can grasp others’ needs and develop remarkable ways to fulfill them. You can move through your work efficiently while recognizing that the detailed work in our business is critical. You have enough experience and/or common sense to know that the first answer isn’t always the right one and you are incredibly resourceful and thoughtful in all your interactions. You are naturally curious, love organization and embrace detail work.This role is ideal for those who wish to be challenged intellectually, grow professionally, strengthen their financial planning talents, and develop client advisory skills under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced advisory team.Responsibilities Support advisory team with preparation of well-polished documentation and presentation materials for meetingsAttend and participate in meetings with prospects and existing clientsRecord meeting notes on topics covered, changes in client’s needs, and action itemsSummarize meeting and schedule action items in the CRMComplete any applicable action items utilizing firm processes and proceduresWork with team to ensure all actions for clients are tracked and completedCoordinate financial plan development, including initial financial plan data entry, development and working with advisory team to develop scenarios, ongoing monitoring, evaluations, and any necessary updatesCreate quarterly and/or annual client summaries of net worth, estate distribution, insurance, income tax, cash flow projections, and investmentsWork in conjunction with the advisory team to deliver services to clientsCommunicate and follow up regularly with clients, developing strong relationships and rapportAssist with initiatives focused on value-add content delivered to clientsOther special projects to support firm-wide process improvement and capabilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesBachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, financial planning, or a related fieldCFP® Education Requirements completed; new hire must pass the CFP® Examination within 1 year from date of hireWe will provide financial support, mentorship, and time in the regular workweek to accomplish this0-3 years of experience in the wealth management industry is common for this role; this is an entry-level financial planning position and promotability is determined primarily by the ability to obtain and be able to use the CFP®Strong work ethic, deadline-focused, and positive attitudeCollaborative team player who believes in relentless customer satisfactionExcellent verbal, written, presentation, listening, and interpersonal communication skillsIntellectual curiosity about technology and awareness of current trendsUncompromising integritySuperior initiative and ability to maintain high levels of personal accountability“Can-do” attitude, enthusiastic, and a strong aptitude for learningCapacity for independence and self-motivation in a fast-paced environmentThe ability to effectively prioritize workloads and complete tasks within time constraints is essentialOrganizational skills and attention to detail are critical given the nature of paperwork, processes, and work, upon which both clients and the advisory team dependFamiliar with Black Diamond, Wealthbox, eMoney, Schwab preferred, and/or other industry-specific platformsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills
