They bring the designs of our engineers to life by using advanced manufacturing techniques like 3D printing to create our hardware and are responsible for delivering our projects and missions on time and on budget to our customers.\nLEAD ASSEMBLY, INTEGRATION & TEST TECHNICIAN\nBased out of Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, California the Lead Avionics Manufacturing Technician primary objective is to support the team to working efficiently, safely and to the required quality standard, managing resources, constraints and tools.\nWhen daily support tasks are complete, it is expected any other time is invested in continuous improvement, staying competent on skills, focusing on improving the team's capabilities and processes by such things as, training, waste elimination and process failure mode elimination activities.\nA Lead needs to remain technically competent on all processes with the department in order to be the primary technical trainer and provide input on process improvements, new product introduction and quality investigations with the technician's perspective.\nWHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:\nCommunicate effectively to the team regarding daily tasks and department updates.\nLead an excellent quality culture with accurate policy adherence and effective root cause investigation and mitigation\nTrain all team members in technical skills and manufacturing processes.\nLead 5S, equipment care and calibration activities.\nPursue efficiency improvements.\nEnsure safe work practice is adhered to in the responsible area, near misses are completed and a safety different culture is built.\nYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:\n10+ years of relevant experience within the aerospace industry.\nDemonstrate expertise in the development, production, and integration of advanced space systems and satellite componentry. Components include Fluid Systems, Propulsion Systems, Reaction Wheels, Star Trackers, Deep Space Radios, Magnetorquers, Flight Computers and Solar Panel Arrays.\nProficiency in advanced tools, technical documentation, and industry-standard environments (e.g., ESD safe zones, clean rooms).\nFamiliarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620C and/or AC 43.13 standards.\nProven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior technicians.\nStrong understanding of ISO9000 or AS9100 requirements.\nHS Diploma or GED.\nTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:\nA high work rate and be able to work overtime and long hours if needed.\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written.\nThe ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS\nWilling to work B Shift (Monday – Thursday 3:15pm - 1:45am)\nMust be able to walk and stand for long periods of time\nMust be comfortable working in a production environment with extensive use of hazardous chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and solvents\nMust be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted.\nMust be able to wear appropriate PPE for lab and electro-chemical manufacturing environment\nMust be comfortable with climbing up and down ladders, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, carrying, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces\nMust be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT\nWe're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task.
