Laurels Recovery Specialist

Category Counselor - Bachelors Level Description Laurels Recovery Specislist needed for crisis stabilization and detoxification program, located in Lebanon, Virginia. This position provides services at the Laurels Recovery Center including residential substance use disorder treatment services and mental health crisis stabilization services including the following: group and individual contacts, arts and crafts, recreation, transportation, case management, discharge planning, service coordination, linkage and referral. This position will require flexible work hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays. Position Requirements Incumbent can meet requirements by one of the three following qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field and QMHP certification preferred or QMHP-T minimum requirement. 2. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field and CSAC certification preferred or participation in supervision for CSAC minimum requirement. 3. Associates Degree in Human Services preferred or High School Diploma minimum requirement, and CSAC-A certification preferred or participation in supervision for CSAC-A minimum requirement, and experience working with individuals with substance use disorders (SUD). Also, Valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Candidate must pass all CMCS background screenings. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
