To find out more about our commitment to sustainability and about Amcor, visit www.amcor.com.\nJob Description\nPosition Overview:\nResponsible for maintaining a safe and quality operation with a proficient understanding of loading, unloading, and moving raw materials within the plant and warehouse.\nEssential Responsibilities and Duties:\nAdheres to Amcor Rigid Plastics Safety and Quality policies and procedures.\nCoordinate workflow with other material handlers.\nOperates a lift truck in a safe and proficient manner, for up to a 12-hour period.\nSupply Production Department with the necessary raw materials, as needed.\nRemove finished goods from production area and put production tickets on pallets and store in proper warehouse location.\nTag finished product and be knowledgeable of required materials.\nAbility to stack finished product in warehouse in a neat manner.\nMust be flexible.\nMust be able and willing to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment.\nMust be able to work safely and in a very tight production area.\nMust willingly accept any other duties/changes to position to fit the needs for production as requested by Material Handler Lead and/or Supervisor.\nMust wear safety equipment, personal protective equipment, as required in the area or to perform specific job duties.\nQualifications:\nRequires high school diploma or equivalent. Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., technical or vocational education).\nForklift certification\nAt least 1 to 3 years of previous work experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment preferred.\nValid Driver’s License required.\nSAP experience is preferred.\nOther Requirements:\nAbility to recognize and understand numbers and values and enters this information into an on-line database accurately and assure all customer paperwork is documented correctly to avoid delayed shipment(s) to customer.\nA strong mathematical ability is essential.\nAbility to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects.\nProficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.\nAbility to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.\nAbility to use a computer and related software efficiently and effectively.\nAbility to work all shifts and required overtime.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to move, lift/push/pull on a continual basis: this is a physically demanding job as outlined by the U.S. Department of Labor. Incumbent is required to transport loads in the warehouse(s).\nFollows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Co-worker Handbook and in accordance with Amcor’s Safety Policies and Procedures. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and supervision.
