The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, design, verification & validation (V&V), and demonstrate knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Diagram process as defined in ARP4754A/ARP4761 standards. This role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, safety, and test engineering) to ensure robust system development, compliance with certification standards, and alignment with our mission to positively impact the future of the client.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.\n\nLead development and maintain functional and logical airplane and system architecture.\n\nEnsure functional hazard assessments (FHA), preliminary system safety assessments (PSSA), and common mode analyses (CMA) in alignment with safety objectives.\n\nGuide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability to all-level (e.g., DRO, SRO and SCD) requirements.\n\nDevelop plan and execute verification and validation activities across the V-model (item verification, system integration & verification, aircraft-level verification).\n\nSupport safety analyses (SSA, FMEA/FMES) and compliance with applicable aerospace/defense regulations (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).\n\nLead discussions across software and hardware engineering teams during design and testing phases.\n\nProvide documentation and support for certification authorities (FAA/EASA).\n\nParticipate in technical design reviews, audits, and interchange meetings.\n\nRequirements\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical field.\n\n9+ years of experience in systems engineering lifecycle within aerospace, automotive, or complex system domains.\n\nExtensive hands-on experience with V-Diagram processes (requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation).\n\nKnowledge of safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES).\n\nFamiliarity with certification frameworks (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254).\n\nStrong analytical thinking, clear technical writing, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nRequirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).\n\nDeveloping System modeling (SysML/UML, Cameo, or equivalent) at the airplane and systems level.\n\nLeading test planning and execution across multiple integration levels.\n\nAircraft design, development and certification knowledge.\n\nEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor’s and 9 or more years’ experience, Master’s with 7 or more years’ experience or PhD with 4 or more years’ experience).
