We pride ourselves on the impact we have on the early childhood field by supporting teachers who are doing the most important work, teaching children to become creative, confident thinkers.Position Overview Our Platform Engineering team builds and maintains the core services and web applications that power scalable SaaS solutions used by educational organizations worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges across the stack and building systems that enable product teams to move faster and more effectively. This role combines backend platform development, frontend application architecture, and cloud‐native engineering practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across services, APIs, and user interfaces while helping drive engineering quality, scalability, and operational excellence.Specific Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable platform services, UI, APIs, and shared application capabilitiesBuild modern, performant user experiences using React and Next.jsDevelop and optimize backend services using Go and PostgreSQLDesign and implement GraphQL APIs and supporting data modelsCollaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, API‐driven applicationsContribute to platform architecture, technical design, and engineering standardsTroubleshoot application issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement sustainable solutionsImprove developer experience through tooling, automation, and engineering best practicesParticipate in code reviews, technical planning, and architectural discussionsMentor engineers and promote high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainabilityLeverage AI‐assisted development tools and agentic workflows to accelerate debugging, validation, automation, and deliveryStay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and modern software engineering practicesQualifications5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining production web applicationsStrong experience with Go and modern JavaScript/TypeScript developmentDeep experience with React and Next.jsStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimizationExperience designing and implementing GraphQL APIsExperience building and supporting microservices‐based architecturesFamiliarity with micro frontend architectures and distributed systemsExperience developing and deploying cloud‐native applications using AWS services such as Lambda, EKS, AppSync, and Docker‐based workloadsStrong understanding of secure, accessible, and high‐performance web application developmentExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows, preferably using Bitbucket or GitHubStrong debugging, testing, and problem‐solving skills across the full stackExperience working in Agile development environmentsAbility to balance technical excellence with pragmatic deliveryExperience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering best practicesFamiliarity with AI‐assisted development workflows and modern developer productivity toolsBenefits & PerksCompetitive compensation packageEmployee Equity Appreciation ProgramHealth and wellness insurance benefits401k with employer matchFlexible work environmentUnlimited paid time off (includes paid holidays and Winter Break)Paid parental leaveTuition assistance, professional development, and opportunities for career growthBest in class technology equipment for every employeePenthouse suite in downtown DC seconds away from Washington Nationals Stadium and Audi FieldTeaching Strategies is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a workplace where everyone can thrive.
