The Data Engineer will partner with the Information Technology (IT) Data Services team to ensure the efficient operation of the organization's data science infrastructure and will assist management with the interpretation, evaluation and interrelationship of research data.\r\nEssential Duties And Responsibilities Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional enterprise requirements for requestor departments and within department and team.\r\nCreates data tools for analytics and data science team members to assist them in building and optimizing work products.\r\nIdentifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements aimed at automation of manual processes and optimization of data delivery.\r\nPartners with IT Data Services team to ensure Data Science infrastructure is operating efficiently and to identify new opportunities for efficiencies.\r\nAssists with the interpretation, evaluation, and interrelationship of research data, and generates integrated enterprise analysis and projections for incorporation into decision making.\r\nMotivates and mentors' staff to ensure commitment to excellence and quality service to all entities within the organization.\r\nPerforms other duties as assigned to support the e?cient operation of the department.\r\nEducation, Experience And Qualifications Bachelor's degree in data science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Data Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field required.\r\nMinimum two (2) years of Data Engineering or related experience required.\r\nRelated, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.\r\nKnowledge, Skills And Abilities (ksa) Demonstrated experience acting as a critical liaison between IT teams and cross-functional business stakeholders.\r\nHigh proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.\r\nHigh proficiency with SQL is required.\r\nHigh proficiency in API utilization is required.\r\nFundamental Business Intelligence Tool experience is required.\r\nFundamental Relational Databases, ETL, and Enterprise Reporting/Analytical Tools experience is required.\r\nFundamental level of Cloud/Server experiences required.\r\nFundamental level of Scripting Python or R Experiences required.\r\nFundamental level of SAS experience required.\r\nCommunication, Problem Solving, Interpersonal, Customer Service, Analytical Mindset, Teamwork, Attention to details, and Time Management.\r\nLICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.\r\nDriving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.\r\nPhysical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.\r\nWork requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.\r\nIncumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.\r\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.\r\nStrength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.\r\nSedentary work: involves sitting most of the time.
