Manager, Government Services Operations

Job Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Manager, Government Operations provides administrative and strategic support to the ISSG partners with the desired outcome of assisting in achieving the vision, mission, and goals of the consolidated Government Services practice. The primary focus of the position will be to assist in driving the financial performance and strategic initiatives of the consolidated practice with a focus on follow through, execution, and accountability while simultaneously reducing the administrative burden on existing leadership.Job DutiesFinancial Management and Operations:Drives and supervises financial operations of the practice including, but not limited to, financial reporting & budgeting, billing, revenue, subcontractor management, accounts receivable, forecasting, and new employee onboardingBuilds trusting relationships with Practice Leaders such that successful strategic actions executed in one practice area, office or region can be shared with other offices and regions Streamlines processes and procedures and works with project managers and leaders to effectively manage engagementsDevelops and maintains reports on a daily basis-related to Metrics/Realization rates, engagement economics, and pipelineOversees and develops internal processes including, but not limited to, CRM and project set-upWorks closely with the Government Services PMO to ensure staff utilization and engagement metrics Monitors monthly financial results in real time, alerting leadership to potential or actual forecast discrepancies Supports leadership in monitoring and taking strategic actions to evaluate the Government practice client portfolio, including stratifying clients based on revenue and services provided as well as monitoring profitability by client in addition to other key performance indicatorsMonitors relative practice, office and region productivity and where discrepancies are identified; works with the PMO to remedyWorks with BDO’s Core Business Service professionals in finance to standardize and streamline reporting Communication:Attends office visits within the practice including those within the Government Services practice, as neededEffectively communicates with leaders, project teams, and staff to ensure that information is clear, concise and effectively executed People:Assists Government Services Practice Leaders and National Practice Leader with monitoring practice area, office and region level personnel relative to the forecastTracks subcontractors contracts and invoices Other duties as requiredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesN/AEducationQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor’s degree, required; degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, preferred ExperienceEight (8) or more years in business process, project management, and solution implementation, requiredExperience in finance and/or consulting, preferred Industry experience in government consulting, preferredLicense(s)/Certification(s)N/A SoftwareProficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, requiredPrior experience in CRM, preferredPrior experience in financial systems, including but not limited to Oracle, Unanet or OneStream, preferred Language(s)N/A Other Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business and report writingElite level organizational skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively independently and in groups and teamsPeople focus with ability to objectively communicate with different personality typesProactive mindset and ability to think ahead and identify and anticipate problems before they ariseAbility to use position and influence to “lead from behind”Passion for the vision and mission of the consolidated Government Services practiceIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.California Range: $125,000 - $145,000Colorado Range: $125,000 - $145,000Washington DC Range: $125,000 - $145,000Illinois Range: $125,000 - $135,000Maryland Range: $125,000 - $135,000Massachusetts Range: $125,000 - $140,000Minnesota Range: $125,000 - $135,000New Jersey Range: $125,000 - $140,000New York Range: $125,000 - $145,000Ohio Range: $125,000 - $135,000Washington Range: $125,000 - $140,000About UsJoin us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
