In this role, you will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Responsibilities will include software development, debugging and fixing of software errors, implementing new features, along with writing and running tests. This individual must have the ability to work as a productive and engaged team member in a fast-paced environment. Strong initiative and follow-through are essential for this job.\nReporting Relationships:\nThe Principal Software Development Engineer will report to the Director of Software Engineering\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nAssists in design, develops, and implements software consistent with the development process and contemporary software techniques.\nAssists in debugging and unit testing of software products.\nAnalyzes and investigates major software engineering tasks.\nAssists in defining design specifications and parameters.\nCoordinates with hardware engineers to resolve hardware/software compatibility and interface considerations.\nInterfaces with other departments to participate in specification, design, code, and test reviews.\nAssists in providing documentation of software products.\nFollows and contributes to improvement of the software development process.\nProvides timely production support and problem resolution.\nInterfaces with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications; provides maintenance information.\nProduces timely status reports and projections.\nDevelops and tracks objectives and schedules.\nPrioritizes and manages multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.\nParticipates in project planning and management.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned by management.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Software Engineering and 5+ years of related experience .\nWeb Standard APIs: HTML DOM, Fetch, XHR, Storage, UI Events, Navigation .\nAI-assisted programming tools\nAngular 14+ Web GUI Application Library .\nChart.js TypeScript Web GUI Charting Library .\nCypress Web GUI Testing Library .\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, and AutoCAD.\nGeneral understanding of contract and construction documents .\nKnowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes .\nCommitment to excellence and high standards .\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\nAbility to manage priorities and workflow.\nVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.\nDemonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.\nAbility to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.\nProven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.\nCreative, flexible, and innovative team player.\nStrong written and verbal communication .\nHas the ability to develop relationships with co-workers and to contribute to group solutions\nAble to identify root cause of issues, and quickly formulates action plans to resolve them.\nAlways does right by the customer, monitors daily and notifies management of quality concerns.\nPositive attitude with ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across all departments within the OSS Company.\nUnderstands Company and department goals and objectives , and how you contribute\nWorks within the organization's budgetary guidelines while minimizing expenses and maximizing cost efficiency.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nContinually required to sit at a computer\nContinually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity\nFrequently required to talk and hear\nFrequently required to stand\nFrequently required to walk\nFrequently required to sit\nContinually utilized visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard\nOccasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds\nThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
