AIRO is offering a unique opportunity to join a highly focused and motivated team of engineers in defining, designing, and implementing these advanced systems.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nWe are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support the development, certification, and sustainment of advanced avionics with a primary focus on GNSS-based navigation systems. This role encompasses typical program/project management responsibilities plus performance of some project work as well as product strategy and product lifecycle management.\nThis is a hands-on role requiring leadership, management, and technical contribution. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nManage multiple concurrent projects and keep them within scope, on schedule, and at or below budget.\nWork closely with internal engineering teams and with external engineering teams at client companies.\nAdvise company leadership on project status and provide timely updates on any issues, risks, or constraints.\nFacilitate communication between engineering, certification, manufacturing, quality, and leadership teams.\nCoordinate with other internal and external project stakeholders.\nWrite process documents, service bulletins, manuals, etc. on an as-needed basis.\nPrepare and submit to the FAA applications for initial TSO authorization and notifications of minor changes to a TSO article.\nLead development of the GNSS product strategy and translate it into actionable project plans.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Aviation, Technical Management, or related field is strongly preferred.\n5+ years of program/project management experience in aerospace, avionics, or similar technical industry is required.\nPMI certification is preferred.\nEffective leadership, management, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.\nModerate technical/engineering skill and the ability to work directly with internal and external engineering teams are required.\nProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Project, is required.\nExperience with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Altium, etc.) is preferred.\nBasic technical understanding of GNSS (GPS, SBAS, and Galileo) is preferred.\nFamiliarity with RTCA DO-178 and DO-254 processes is preferred.\nFamiliarity with FAA TSO and STC processes is preferred.\nPHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS\nStanding and sitting for extended periods of time,\nLifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner,\nAbility to work and communicate well with other employees and management,\nAbility to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands,\nAbility to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach above and below shoulders, and full use of upper extremities,\nAbility to easily move through an approximately 25,000 square foot warehouse building,\nAbility to read, write, and understand English,\nCorrectable vision and hearing.\nThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee may also be asked to perform other reasonably related job duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor as required.
