Job Title: Enterprise Architect (Application Focus) – Heatlhcare payer REMOTE ROLELocation: Newtown Square, PA (Hybrid – 1 day onsite preferred)Duration: 6+ Months ContractOverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect to join our technology team on a contract basis. This role is focused on enterprise-level application architecture, driving the design, integration, and delivery of scalable solutions across the organization.You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust architectural designs and serve as the technical authority guiding development teams through the full lifecycle. This is a hands-on architecture role, owning end-to-end application design, integration patterns, data flow, and Azure-based deployment strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain current-state and future-state architecture artifacts (Visio or similar tools)Lead end-to-end solution architecture from requirements through deliveryPartner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical designsDefine and govern API integration strategies (REST, SOAP, event-driven)Architect secure solutions including SSO and OAuth 2.0 frameworksDesign database architecture (SQL Server & Oracle) including data models and performance optimizationDrive cloud architecture on Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) including governance and cost optimizationGuide development teams and ensure alignment with architectural standards across the SDLCCreate clear, structured documentation for both technical and business audiencesRequired Qualifications8+ years of experience in Enterprise or Solution ArchitectureStrong experience with architecture diagramming tools (Visio preferred)Hands-on expertise in API design & integrations (REST, SOAP, event-driven systems)Deep knowledge of security architecture (SSO, OAuth 2.0, identity management)Strong experience with SQL Server and Oracle databasesProven experience designing solutions on Microsoft AzureExcellent stakeholder communication and ability to lead design workshopsHealthcare or managed care experience is a plusPreferred QualificationsTOGAF, Azure, or AWS certifications (Azure Solutions Architect preferred)Experience with HL7/FHIR and healthcare interoperabilityFamiliarity with Agile/SAFe environments
