You'll partner with business leaders to identify skill gaps, build targeted training programs, and measure effectiveness using data and learner feedback.This role is key to driving continuous learning and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization.Day to day, you'll:Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to translate business needs into effective learning solutionsConduct training needs assessments and job/task analyses to identify skill gaps and opportunitiesDefine clear, measurable learning objectives aligned to business goals and learner needsSelect and apply appropriate instructional strategies and delivery methods (e.g., virtual, in-person, self-paced)Design and develop training programs and performance support materials using adult learning principlesCreate engaging learning content for both synchronous and asynchronous deliveryDevelop and maintain reusable templates and learning assets to support consistency and scalabilityFacilitate and deliver engaging, learner-centered training experiences (including train-the-trainer sessions) across virtual and in-person environments, adapting to audience needs and delivering high-quality solutions within defined timelinesEvaluate training effectiveness using assessments, learner feedback, and performance data, and recommend improvementsAnalyze results and share insights with business partners using standard reporting toolsParticipate in team and operational meetings to stay aligned with business priorities and upcoming initiativesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 3 years of experience in training, instructional design, or learning and developmentDemonstrated experience designing, developing, and delivering training programsStrong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologiesExperience conducting needs assessments and translating business needs into effective learning solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight timelinesStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to improve learning outcomesEffective facilitation, presentation, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively (and build relationships) with associates at all levels of the organizationAbility to quickly learn, adapt to, and apply new tools and technologiesProficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred Qualifications:4+ years of experience in training and development, ideally in a corporate or financial services environmentExperience with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Mindsmith, Articulate, Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (e.g., SeerTech or similar platforms)Instructional Design certification (e.g., ATD, CPTD, or similar)Master's degree in instructional design, adult education, educational technology, or a related fieldWhy work for us:At H&R Block, our purpose is simple: to provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere.
