Communications Intern
Position Summary
The Communications Intern will assist the Marketing Coordinator and other staff as needed in communicating the mission and vision of World Relief Texas and its programs to a variety of constituencies, including local churches, volunteers, community members, and donors. The internship is 10 hours a week, hybrid schedule, ending 7/31/26.
Responsibilities
Conduct interviews with relevant parties to gather information, quotes and releases.
Write content for newsletters, social media, website, and marketing materials.
Take photos and videos for use across all platforms.
Help grow WR Texas's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram audiences.
Attend in-person WR events and other activities to gather content.
Brainstorm ideas for growing and engaging social media audiences.
Pursue new story leads.
Complete research on communication, marketing, and other topics related to WR Texas's work.
Assist with keeping digital marketing and communication materials and programs organized.
Provide administrative support to the department.
Complete required readings and journal entries.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
Photography/videography skills.
Cross-cultural experience, sensitivity and/or interest.
Strong personal initiative; ability to work independently.
Organized; attention to detail.
Preferred
No degree required, but experience in photography/videography and writing strongly preferred.
Car (or access to transportation) and a valid driver's license.
Compensation & Additional Information
Compensation: $0 – $0 per hour.
While some internships are unpaid, the program is competitive and applicants are encouraged to approach it like a job. Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, application, and pass a criminal background check. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
