Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Communications Manager for RBC Capital Markets in the United States will provide thoughtful and strategic communications for RBC Capital Markets' U.S. Investment Banking, U.S. Municipal Finance and U.S. Corporate Banking businesses. They will contribute positively to RBC's external image in the U.S. through innovative and differentiated employee and external communications.What will you do?Develop and execute integrated communications strategies for U.S. Investment Banking, Municipal Finance and Corporate Banking aligned with business objectives and growth prioritiesBuild RBC's brand visibility and reputation in the U.S. through proactive media relations, thought leadership and strategic content developmentIdentify and mitigate reputational risks through issues management, executive messaging, and stakeholder engagementIdentify and maintain strong relationships with key financial and business media to secure strategic coverageLead proactive outreach for major announcements, including executive appointments, transactions and market insightsPartner with U.S. PR agency to amplify reach and coordinate campaignsIdentify and assist with media training for new spokespeopleCreate compelling internal content across multiple channelsSupport employee engagement through timely, relevant communications and events support that reinforce culture and business prioritiesDesign and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and impactResearch emerging trends and best practices to keep strategies current and competitive What do you need to succeed?Must-have5+ years of relevant corporate communications experience, PR firm or financial services/professional services firm preferredOutstanding written and verbal communications skillsDemonstrated success in media relations, including securing strategic placements in business and financial pressStrong interpersonal skills, team player and relationship builderEstablished relationships with business and financial mediaTrack record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environmentsStrong knowledge of communication and social media principles and best practices What's in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
