Energy Storage-Senior Planning and Scheduling Manager
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking aSenior Planning and Scheduling Manager to join our Energy Storage Groupthat will be responsible for performing complex planning and scheduling assignments on highly complex or multiple projects, providing leadership and coordination of team members and processes, and overseeing project planning and scheduling strategies at both project and group levels.
This position is located at our office headquarters in Minneapolis, MN
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide oversight of planning and scheduling activities on all projects within an operating group
Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities
Ensure corporate planning and schedule standards are implemented and all project-related activities comply
Review major mitigation efforts for conformance to company standards
Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team, including coaching, mentoring, training, and performance evaluations
Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed
Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities
Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance
Collaborate with Business Development on proposals, leading project pursuit strategy regarding schedule and risk identification and mitigation
Support roll-out of all company-wide training plans
Coordinate and lead corporate planning and scheduling improvement initiatives and best practice sharing
Responsible for budget and scheduling resource management at the operating group level
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent fieldMinimum twelve years of construction experience; experience as a project manager or superintendent is desirableAdvanced knowledge of scheduling concepts, construction practices, project sequencing, and 4D visual planning methodologiesStrong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills; ability to identify concerns in document reviewsKnowledge of project management, contracting methods, buyout, and contractsAbility to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projectsStrong organization, delegation, and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple project teamsAbility to deliver exceptional customer experience and superior service rankingsBasic understanding of project estimates for schedule development, cost loading, and resource loadingAbility to interpret and implement customer scheduling specifications and contract requirementsAbility to quickly understand complex projects at the proposal stage and develop strong project schedule strategiesAbility to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environmentExcellent analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication, and public speaking skillsActive listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackKnowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plansExcellent leadership and rapport-building skills with direct reports, team members, and customersAbility to travel as required based on operating groupA few benefits offered include:
