The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the fabrication and/or coating departments. This role supervises approximately 2030 production employees, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and applicable quality requirements. The Production Supervisor provides direct leadership to production teams, coordinates workflow, monitors production schedules, and ensures adherence to safety policies and operational procedures. This position plays a key role in maintaining productivity, quality, and a strong safety culture across the facility. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and innovation.\nQualifications\n\nEssential Job Functions\nSupervise and coordinate daily activities of 2030 production employees.\nReview work orders and production schedules to establish priorities and staffing needs.\nAssign tasks, monitor workflow, and adjust resources to meet production targets and deadlines.\nMonitor productivity, efficiency, and schedule attainment to ensure operational goals are met.\nMaintain accurate production records including labor, materials, and work order completion.\nSafety Leadership & Compliance\nPromote a culture where Safety, Quality, and Production are equally prioritized.\nEnforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.\nConduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).\nLead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and encourage proactive hazard reporting.\nInvestigate incidents, injuries, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.\nQuality Assurance & Process Control\nInspect materials and in-process work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.\nDirect adjustments to machine setups or processes to correct defects or inefficiencies.\nSupport ISO compliance activities and participate in internal and external audits.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nTrain and mentor employees on equipment, procedures, safety, and quality expectations.\nMonitor employee performance, provide coaching, and support development plans.\nAddress employee concerns and workplace issues in coordination with management.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety teams to resolve operational issues.\nEnsure equipment is properly set up, maintained, and operating efficiently.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and workplace organization programs.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nSupport special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager.\nQualifications & Skills\nHigh school diploma or GED required (Associate's degree or technical training preferred).\n37 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environments.\n13 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.\nExperience in pipe fabrication, coating, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.\nStrong leadership and team management capabilities.\nKnowledge of production processes, materials handling, and industrial equipment.\nUnderstanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.\nAbility to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and reports.\nExperience with Microsoft Office and ERP/production tracking systems preferred.\nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.\nEffective communication skills across all levels of the organization.\nWork Environment\nIndustrial manufacturing and pipe fabrication facility.\nRegular presence on the production floor supporting inspection activities and quality oversight.\nExposure to welding operations, fabrication equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.\nRequired use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection while in production areas.\nOccasional overtime may be required to support audits, inspections, or production schedules.\nWhy Perma-Pipe\nStable, well-established manufacturing organization.\nStrong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nOpportunity to influence weld quality and shop performance daily.\nCollaborative, team-driven environment.\nPERMA-PIPE International Holdings, Inc.
