W2 only - Sustainability Data Analyst

Job Title: Data AnalystLocation: New Brunswick, NJ (Onsite – 2 days in a month)Position Type: Fulltime positionResponsibilities:Job Description:Data Analyst is a detail-oriented technical analyst position that reports to the Operations Manager. The Data Analyst will be a team-player, responsible for compiling, analyzing, tracking program data, and reporting program information for all Programs. Other responsibilities will include developing and analyzing reports for energy efficiency measures and program performance, leading development and review of program documents and tools, tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), supporting program evaluation, update of program planning tools and developing forecast and projection reports for the client.Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience working in program design and/or implementation for utility or state-funded efficiency/renewable energy programsBachelor’s Degree in technical discipline, like Engineering, Data Analytics, Physics, Mathematics, etc.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; expert with MS ExcelExperience coding with Microsoft Visual Basic or similar programming languagesExperience with relational database systems preferredExperience working with state and federal energy codes and regulationsExperience with program evaluation processes and proceduresExcellent research skillsDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated strategic thinking skillsExperience working with and analyzing large datasetsAbility to multitask, submit deliverables promptly, and be proactiveAbility to manage multiple tasks and work closely with other project team membersDesire to develop existing and new skill sets in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentAbility to write procedures and develop corresponding flow charts. Experience in Visio is a plusExperience & Education:Minimum 2 years of experience working in program design and/or implementation for utility or state-funded efficiency/renewable energy programsBachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, like Engineering, Data Analytics, Physics, Mathematics, etc.Responsibilities:Perform policy research on energy efficiency codes and standards at the state and federal levels for both current and future codesPerform a wide range of analyses, including analysis of program and portfolio performance, measure-level performance, project-level performance, and program-level impactsPerform benefit-cost analysis on prospective energy efficiency measures and programs in accordance with the New Jersey State Protocols, the New Jersey Coordinated Measure list, and other appropriate standards and guidelinesJustify and document technical decisions related to research planning and data analysisReport and present findings, as well as actionable recommendations, to the internal technical services team and potentially the utility clientCollaborate with program management staff and clients to meet program information and reporting needsLead the development of program documents, including applications and energy savings models, and all other documents required for participants to engage energy efficiency programs; Perform document reviewsTrack and analyze internal key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare back up documents for the monthly invoices for the client; KPIs will include, but are not limited to, the following: completed projects or rebate applications, enrollments, committed funding, spent funding, estimated savings, number of participating trade allies, QC inspections/results (pass or fail), reporting accruals, explaining variances, etc.Develop and document data collection and tracking procedures as changes are madeSupporting program evaluation proceduresDevelop energy-based assumptions using regression or other data mining and modeling techniquesPerform other duties as required
