schedules the repairs and maintenance of a wide variety of LNG and diesel-powered equipment; ensures an environment that meets safety and regulatory requirements and monitors all daily contractual maintenance obligations.\nEssential Job Functions:\nSupervises mechanics, monitors outside contract laborers.\nSupervises mechanics, investigates, provides information, makes and administers decisions concerning employee discipline.\nDaily review of RTA dashboard and subsequent follow up on all abnormal issues.\nThe Maintenance Supervisors also has the responsibility of scheduling time off.\nEvaluates the performance of both new and current employees.\nFacilitates and schedules training of both new and current employees.\nWorks with Human Resources by participating in interview panels for maintenance positions.\nMonitors the budget at a sectional level.\nExplains administrative policies and procedures to employees; administers Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions.\nMonitors absences/PTO/FMLA usage; verifies and authorizes time sheets for payroll purposes.\nRepresents Veolia Transportation at first level grievances.\nAssisting with scheduling outside contract labor for special projects and monitors the laborers performance.\nConducts daily safety/shift turnover meetings with both mechanics and supervisor on duty.\nWorks with facility maintenance to communicate issues relevant to a safe and pleasant work environment.\nCoordinates coach/fleet vehicle repairs and maintenance\nSchedules major and minor repairs.\nCreates work orders for repairs to coaches, reviews past work orders for repairs to coaches, and reviews and closes current work orders.\nAssigns work to mechanics based on the work required and the qualifications of the mechanic.\nMakes on-the-spot decisions regarding repairs; and, at times, makes on-the-spot repairs when necessary.\nCommunicates with mechanics on diagnosis and procedures for repair and assists with technical questions.\nMonitors tracking sheets generated by management to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.\nMonitors the work of both internal employees and vendors for quality and quantity.\nWorks with Parts personnel to obtain the correct replacement parts.\nDecides which coaches to pull/swap out and relays this information to operations at least 8 hours in advance.\nLists and schedules coaches ready for PMI’s and other work and communicates this information with operations.\nAssists with the scheduling of coaches needed for detailing and steaming for the service workers.\nTracks and analyzes data for various reports\nReviews work orders and all company generated reports for accuracy and timeliness.\nMonitors the status of down/out-of-service equipment and issues a daily report to the COP.\nCollects oil samples and sends them for analysis, with follow up on associated repairs and notification.\nEnsures work order closure at EOM as per RTA guidelines.\nPerforms tasks and projects as assigned\nAddresses environmental concerns or issues that develop within the facility.\nAddresses environmental concerns or issues that develop out on the road in case of a vehicle failure.\nEnsures the cleanliness of the yard and facilities by walking the facility at the start and end of each shift.\nCommunicates with management both within and from other departments daily to ensure objectives are met.\nPurpose and Nature of Work Relationships:\nHas extensive contact with others inside the organization; monitors outside contract laborers 35%\nCoordinates coach/fleet vehicle repairs and maintenance 35%\nTracks and analyzes data for various reports 20%\nPerforms tasks and projects as assigned 10%\nEssential Knowledge and Skills:\nRequires five (5) years of progressive mechanical experience to include diesel mechanic experience of which a minimum of 2 years must be in supervisory or lead role.\nAn Associates degree in management, mechanical engineering or other related technical field is required or an amount of experience equivalent to an Associates degree.\nHigh School Diploma or GED and valid AZ driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement required.\nMust have forklift certification.\nMust be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.\nMust be able to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize and deal with time pressures and be able to clearly communicate verbally and in written form.\nMust have a broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehicles to include transmissions, engines, brakes, climate control units.\nMust have strong organization and labor relations skills, have radio dispatch skills and have basic math skills for tracking trend and for report writing.\nThis position is autonomous, and self-directed and the ability to handle crisis/conflict is required.\nMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug test.\nTools, Equipment and Vehicles Used:\nComputer, printer, 2-way radio, telephone, fax, coach and fleet vehicles, forklift, CFAC lifts, hand tools;
