Manager Trainee
AgriNorthwest is seeking a Manager Trainee to join our local farm team!Summary:The Manager Trainee supports the Farm Unit Manager (FUM) in the execution of agronomic, irrigation, and farm operations while providing direct day-to-day supervision. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality field operations through hands on technical work, employee oversight, and coordination of irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticide activities. Work is performed with limited supervision and requires a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and minimizing equipment and operational downtime.Responsibilities:Assist the FUM in planning and executing daily farm operations, including irrigation, fertilization, pesticide application, and equipment use.Safely operate, monitor, and maintain center-pivot irrigation systems to ensure consistent water application and minimize downtime.Support irrigation scheduling using soil-moisture tools, crop water-use guidelines, and field conditions.Assist with the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation-related mechanical, electrical, and pressure-regulating systems.Apply fertilizers and agricultural chemicals in compliance with label instructions, regulatory requirements, and company procedures, including calibration, mixing, application, and documentation.Formulate and blend dry and liquid fertilizers as required.Operate farm machinery and perform minor repairs and routine maintenance as necessary.Maintain accurate maintenance, chemical application, and operational records.Monitor crop health, identify pest and disease issues, and recommend corrective actions in coordination with farm and agronomy leadership.Provide direct supervision of assigned employees, including work coordination, task assignment, training, and performance oversight.Enforce company policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance, including proper use of PPE.Ensure all work is completed to established standards of safety, quality, and accuracy.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agronomy or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience.Private Pesticide Applicator License (must be maintained).
