This role combines technical depth with people leadership and drives platform reliability, observability, developer experience, and DevOps maturity across the organization.\n'\nDuties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and mentor DevOps / Cloud Engineers; manage performance and development plans.\nFoster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.\nOversee CI/CD standardization for Java, .Net, and Node.js workloads.\nDrive Internal Developer Portal adoption and golden path enablement.\nGuide Terraform and Infrastructure as Code standards and guardrails.\nEmbed DevSecOps best practices into pipelines and cloud platforms.\nLead Proof-of-Concept initiatives for new tools and automation improvements.\nPeople\nLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.\nProvide career guidance, performance feedback, and coaching to team members.\nPromote inclusion, trust, and engagement across distributed teams.\nClient\nPartner with internal engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure DevOps platforms.\nAct as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by translating business needs into technical solutions.\nEnsure responsive, high-quality service and proactive communication with stakeholders.\nAlign platform capabilities with client needs to maximize business impact.\nValue\nDrive automation, operational efficiency, and cloud cost optimization across Azure and AWS.\nDeliver self-service platform capabilities to accelerate developer productivity.\nEstablish and enforce best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.\nContinuously improve service reliability, scalability, and performance while minimizing risk.\nEducation and Experience:\n8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.\n2+ years of people leadership experience.\nStrong experience with CI/CD tools (Harness, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).\nHands-on AWS and/or Azure expertise from architecture to operations.\nExtensive Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.\nAdvanced knowledge of public cloud architecture and operations (Azure and AWS).\nFamiliarity with programming languages such as Java, NodeJS, Python, unix shell.\nHands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and service mesh technologies.\nStrong collaboration, transparency, and stakeholder management skills.\nCertificates and Licenses:\nAWS and/or Azure certifications (Professional-level preferred).\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nDirectly supervise a team of DevOps and cloud platform engineers.\nManage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance.\nAllocate resources effectively across projects and operations.\nEstablish clear goals and accountability for the team.\nCompensation Pay Transparency:\nFor certain California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $161,000.00 - $220,440.00\nFor other California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $147,000.00 - $181,885.00\nFor Colorado based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $141,000.00 - $192,940.00\nFor Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $147,000.00 - $181,885.00\nFor other Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $141,000.00 -
