{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"f17d43249d77c7701facc73e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f17d43249d77c7701facc73e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f17d43249d77c7701facc73e","title":"Process Engineer II","description":"CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Process Engineer.\n\nType: Contract\n\nJob Title: Process Engineer\n\nLocation: Hemlock, MI\n\nCandidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Hemlock, MI\n\nPay Rate: Based on experience\n\nWork Hours: M-F 8am-5pm\n\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field.\n\nThe Process Engineer will provide hands-on support in a manufacturing environment to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement practical corrective actions that improve safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot equipment, product, process, and operational issues.\n\nAnalyze data, observations, and process conditions to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.\n\nRecommend, implement, and verify corrective actions to improve quality, uptime, throughput, and process stability.\n\nSupport equipment start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, qualification, and process optimization.\n\nPartner with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and sustain improvements.\n\nMaintain procedures, standard work, technical documentation, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor's degree is required.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of professional Process Engineer experience in a manufacturing plant; academic experience does not count toward this requirement.\n\nHands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or plant environment.\n\nDemonstrated ability to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement corrective actions.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.\n\nCommitment to safe work practices and compliance with plant procedures.\n\nQualifications\n\nAt least 2 years of professional Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing plant.\n\nExperience troubleshooting equipment, processes, products, and operational issues in a manufacturing environment.\n\nStrong root cause analysis and corrective action skills.\n\nAbility to analyze process data and identify opportunities for improvement.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document technical findings, risks, and recommendations.\n\nAbility to work effectively with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and external vendors.\n\nWillingness to spend considerable time on the manufacturing floor walking, standing, and engaging with operators.\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n\nExperience with Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or other continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nFamiliarity with manufacturing systems, process controls, data analysis tools, and production performance metrics.\n\nMechanical aptitude and experience supporting equipment start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, qualification, or process optimization.\n\nWork Environment and Schedule\nThis role is primarily manufacturing-floor based and may require occasional off-shift or extended-hour support to meet operational or project needs.
