Senior Revenue Accountant
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant that supports the revenue accounting cycle for multiple revenue streams including hardware, software, and services. Looks for opportunities to simplify and/or automate processes and leads projects to drive improvements. Plays a key role in month-end close and supporting internal and external audits. Identifies non-standard terms in draft contracts, performs accounting research and escalates potential revenue recognition issues to the Director, Revenue and Cost Accounting. Reviews signed customer contracts and prepares checklist in accordance with ASC 606 guidance. Performs close tasks, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis. Collaborates with colleagues across Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Sales Operations, IT, and other departments to identify and solve the issues and ensure sales arrangements are accounted for correctly. Provides support with various other accounting tasks and ensures documentation is well maintained.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Leads revenue accounting process improvements initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, improving accuracy, and strengthening internal controls. Collaborates with IT and Sales Operations to drive simplification and automation of revenue team activities.
Reviews signed customer contracts in accordance with ASC606 and performs accounting analysis to identify the potential revenue adjustments. Interprets technical revenue reporting requirements, rules and regulations and apply them to TGCS customer arrangements. May prepare technical memo for significant customer contracts for revenue recognition.
Conduct recurring analysis, prepare journal entries, and perform close activities, including balance sheet reconciliation and investigating issues and variances. Support preparation of quarterly schedules and flux analysis.
Manages the audit requests from internal and external auditors and provides supporting documentation. Answers follow-up questions.
Supports the preparation of revenue forecast and metrics and communicates them with cross-functional teams.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
8+ years of accounting experience in a public accounting and/or corporate environment
5+ years of revenue accounting experience with good understanding of ASC 606
Strong financial systems background, Oracle experience is a plus
CPA or CPA track preferred
Experience working in a multi-segment and revenue stream company environment
Detailed-oriented with excellent analytical skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience working in a multicurrency, multinational environment
Spanish language skills a plus
Organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy individual workload to meet time sensitive deadlines
