Brewster Companies is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer with advancement opportunities and a great work environment.Position SummaryThe Shop Porter supports the daily operations of Brewster Companies' shop and equipment yard by transporting parts, materials, and equipment between jobsites, vendors, and company facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring mechanics and field crews have the tools, supplies, and equipment they need to remain productive. The Shop Porter also assists with yard organization, equipment inspections, and general shop support while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.BenefitsCompany Paid Medical Insurance for full-time employees.Dental/Vision/Life Insurance available after one month.401(k) with competitive company match.Paid Holidays available upon hire.Paid Vacation accruals upon hire.Strong Family Culture – Family-Owned Business.Growth Opportunities – Promotions from within.Job DutiesDeliver and pick up parts, materials, tools, and supplies from vendors, jobsites, and company facilities.Transport small equipment to and from job sites as needed.Coordinate with mechanics, superintendents, and project teams regarding delivery needs and schedules.Assist with loading, unloading, securing, and staging equipment and materials.Verify that delivered equipment and materials are complete and in good condition.Maintain accurate delivery logs, receipts, and documentation as required.Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.Assist mechanics and shop personnel with general shop duties and support tasks.Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, yard, and storage areas.Assist with equipment washing, fueling, and basic inspections.Support equipment mobilization and demobilization efforts.Perform routine building and grounds maintenance tasks as needed.Other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsValid driver's license with a clean driving record.Ability to safely operate pickup trucks, trailers, and small equipment.Basic knowledge of construction equipment and tools preferred.Ability to read and follow directions, maps, and delivery schedules.Basic understanding of PPE and construction site safety requirements.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Personal AttributesDependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.Safety-conscious and committed to following company procedures.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed.Positive attitude with excellent customer service and teamwork skills.Respectful, professional, and committed to supporting Brewster Companies' culture and values.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles and equipment throughout the workday.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods as needed.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move, working around construction equipment, and supporting both shop and field operations.
