They also need to coordinate the logistics of having them delivered and paid for. Their duties include the following:Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expensesAssessing vendors and their offerings with in-person visits, interviews and analysis to assess their qualityCollaborating with various internal departments to ensure that they fulfill all customer requestsNegotiating sale agreements and supply contracts in ways that benefit their companyCoordinating with shipping agencies and sellers to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and servicesAuthorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keepingHandle all transactions for the disc programPlace steel orders monthlyWork with procurementMaintain inventoriesSchedule shipments Process RO/DO for shipments to plants.Track racksEnter coil receipts for coils shipped to processors Enter production as coils are produced at the processors.
