The Engineering Technician will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The Data Center Engineering Technician will be responsible for ensuring the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. The Data Center Engineering Technician will continue to maintain high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum.Responsibilities:Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenancePerform limited maintenance tasks to include: Rack PDU & Rack ATS replacements, rack installation and seismic bracingPerform root cause analysis for operational issuesTroubleshoot facility and rack level eventsEnsure all personnel on-site follow safety protocolsKeep track of alarms and respond accordinglyPerform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritizationPhysical Requirements:Walk job sites in uneven terrainWork at heights and from laddersRegularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawRegularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or moreCarry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distancesWork shifts longer than eight hours in durationRespond to off hour emergency callsMaintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladderCoordinate body movements when using tools or equipment- Work in a space requiring hearing protectionAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
