Junior Precast Estimator
JOB PURPOSE The Precast Estimator for CDA Precast LLC. is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for precast concrete projects. This role supports sales and operations by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure profitable and achievable project execution. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION, THIS IS AN IN-HOUSE POSITION. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements Prepare detailed cost estimates, including: Materials Labor Equipment Transportation and logistics Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors Work closely with Sales, Production, and Operations to develop accurate bid strategies Submit bids and proposals in a timely and professional manner Track and follow up on submitted bids to determine project awards Maintain and update estimating databases, pricing, and historical cost data Identify risks, cost‐saving opportunities, and value engineering options Assist in project handoff meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to production Support customer inquiries related to bids, pricing, and product specifications Handle will‐call orders and customer purchases as needed Create packing slips and invoices for products/sales PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sit/stand – frequently – office and yard environment Occasional walking in production or yard areas Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally Good vision and hearing required MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to read and interpret: Civil plans Engineering drawings Specifications Proficient in: Microsoft Excel (critical) Microsoft Office Suite Experience with estimating software preferred Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar programs is a plus QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of experience in: Construction estimating Precast concrete Civil construction or related field Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Strong organizational and communication skills Self‐motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record High School Diploma or equivalent NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist with sales support and customer communication as needed Participate in internal meetings and process improvements Perform other duties as assigned ENVIRONMENTAL Office-based with occasional yard/plant exposure Exposure to weather conditions when in the yard Potential exposure to mechanical hazards and vehicle traffic PERSONAL CONDUCT Interacts courteously and respectfully with coworkers Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and partners Demonstrates strong work ethic and accountability TOTAL REWARDS Competitive compensation Yearly bonus potential Health, Dental, and Vision coverage 401(k) with 4% company match (match after 1 year of employment) Paid Time Off Holiday Pay CDA Precast LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
