This role involves reading work orders, using hand and power tools, and ensuring components meet quality and safety standards. Duties may also include pulling plates, banding and marking finished products, and moving materials to designated areas. Attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork are essential to success in this role.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nUnderstand shop drawings and work orders (electronic and manual) to determine building requirements, order of operations, material specifications, and plate placement.\nHelp unload and organize incoming lumber, plates, and supplies to keep inventory stocked and production as efficient as possible.\nPull correct plates and hardware from inventory based on designs.\nUse measuring tools (e.g., tape measures) to confirm that lumber and cut materials meet length, width, and angle specifications before and during assembly.\nEnsure correct alignment and spacing of components to meet structural requirements and quality standards.\nAccurately install plates and secure them using manual hammers and automated hydraulic press systems.\nSafely lift completed trusses or panels off lumber carts and stack them in an organized manner, ensuring stability and preventing product damage.\nInspect completed trusses and panels for defects such as incorrect plate placement, misalignment, or damaged components before marking and banding.\nSecurely band finished trusses or wall panels and clearly mark each product with the appropriate job or order information for accurate identification and tracking.\nPush or pull loaded carts to assigned staging, storage, or shipping areas, following established material handling procedures to maintain workflow efficiency and workplace safety.\nAssist with routine cleaning of equipment and work area.\nReport any equipment and product deficiencies to Lead Assembler.\nParticipate in safety meetings.\nComply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies and procedures, including use of proper PPE.\nPerform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nNo direct supervisory responsibilities.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nMust maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in a team-oriented work environment.\nMust demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and be punctual for all scheduled shifts.\nMust show a willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and experienced team members.\nMust have the ability to comprehend and follow instructions provided in written, oral, and diagram form.\nMust be able to lift and carry heavy materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.\nMust have the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.\nMust be able to accurately read and use a tape measure to ensure precise material measurements.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.\nCOMPANY VALUES\nDo the Right Thing.
