May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Shop Foreman or senior technicians.\nResponsibilities\nPerforms basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products\nParticipates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge\nMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products\nMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment\nMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion\nFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments\nCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments\nAccounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties\nExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge\n1+ years experience performing service repairs\nAbility to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician’s specialty\nProficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment\nAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes\nAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions\nAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly\nBasic Service Technician certification preferred\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred\nValid driver’s license required\nFork lift license preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain in stationary positions for extended periods, frequently use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment, and perform repetitive motions. The position involves regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds, as well as bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in various positions, including overhead. Strong visual ability and the safe operation of tools and machinery are essential, along with regular communication via telephone and email.
