Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will design, code, test, and debug software while contributing to the development of reliable, high-performance solutions.\n\nThis role is ideal for recent graduates or entry-level software engineers looking to build their careers in a collaborative environment while supporting national security missions.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAnalyze user requirements to develop software design and performance solutions\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications and components\nDebug existing software and resolve defects\nModify existing software to add new features and improve functionality\nIntegrate software into new or modified operating environments\nDevelop simple database queries for existing and proposed data repositories\nParticipate in software testing and document test results\nSupport software integration and system validation activities\nContribute to software design discussions, including hardware/software tradeoffs and reuse of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions\nFollow established software development methodologies and engineering best practices\nCollaborate with software engineers and system engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\n\nBasic knowledge of software development principles and object-oriented programming\nFamiliarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nWillingness to learn new technologies and development tools\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university\nOR\nFour (4) years of Software Engineering experience on projects utilizing similar software development processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.\n\nClearance Requirement:\n\nMust possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role\n\nWhy Choose Independent Software:\n\nAt Independent Software, our people are the mission.
