Purpose of the Position The Dishwasher plays a critical role in supporting kitchen operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and readily available. This position helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment that supports food safety standards and efficient service operations. Key Responsibilities Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing machines or by hand as required. Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment according to safety and sanitation standards. Monitor water temperatures and machine performance to ensure proper sanitation. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, storage areas, and trash disposal zones. Handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with company policies and health regulations. Dispose of trash, recyclables, and food waste in compliance with company and health department requirements. Assist with unloading, organizing, and storing deliveries as needed. Organize clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment and return items to their designated storage areas. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures at all times. Perform additional cleaning, restocking, or support duties as assigned by kitchen leadership. Job Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
