Summary ObjectiveThe Material Logistics Planning Manager oversees the development and execution of strategies that ensure efficient organization of materials, logistics, and supply flow. This role aligns master schedules and production calendars to maintain seamless coordination across operations. It also monitors inventory levels, supply orders, and resource availability to support uninterrupted production. Additionally, the position serves as a key liaison between internal teams and external vendors, ensuring strong communication and aligned workflows. Essential FunctionsProcess Development: Experience and full understanding of a formal S&OP/SIOP or Integrated Business Planning process in a manufacturing environmentEstablish foundational systems: Design and implement comprehensive materials management processes including receiving, inventory control, storage, and distribution proceduresCreate organizational structure: Build materials team roles, responsibilities, and accountability frameworks from the ground upImplement tracking and control systems: Develop material flow tracking, inventory accuracy protocols, and performance measurement systemsOngoing Responsibilities:Oversee all materials management activities for the Fort Worth assembly facility, including receiving, inventory control, kitting, and shipping operationsDevelop and implement plans for organizing logistics and supplies in a professional mannerResponsible for creating and overseeing master schedules and calendars, as well as monitoring inventory lists and supply ordersDevelop and implement materials flow processes that support our assembly line transformation and handle 30+ concurrent large module buildsManage materials counts and inventory levels in JD Edwards MRP systemCoordinate schedules, deliveries, and work tasks involving other teams or staff members, while acting as a liaison among internal units and external vendorsResponsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, and financial forecasting services; primary objective is to reduce costs, enhance accuracy, improve customer service, and ensure safetyEstablish and monitor KPIs for materials accuracy, on-time delivery, and cost controlLead cycle counting, inventory accuracy initiatives, and root cause analysis of materials discrepanciesDevelop standard operating procedures for materials handling, storage, and movement within a 1M+ sq. ft. facilitySupport ISO 9001 and customer audit requirements for materials traceability and controlReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. CompetenciesExperience supporting complex manufacturing operations with large BOM structures, engineered-to-order products, modular products, or high-mix/low-volume production environmentsDemonstrated success building/transforming materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain processes in a growing manufacturing organizationHands-on experience configuring, implementing, or significantly enhancing MRP/ERP planning processes (i.e. JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environmentExperience managing teams and driving process improvements including, experience developing planning KPIs, inventory metrics, dashboards, and performance reportingExcellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally; particularly collaboration experience with Sales, Supply Chain, and Production Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has supervisory responsibilities. Work LocationThis position will work out of our facilities in Fort Worth, TX. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed inside and outside with uncontrolled weather conditions.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. TravelLimited travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience.Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or related field10 - 15 years of manufacturing experience leading materials planning for heavy industrial equipment, power generation equipment, oil& gas equipment, aerospace products, or other engineered capital equipmentProven experience building materials management processes and systemsExperience with MRP systems (JD Edwards preferred) Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience in heavy manufacturing, fabrication, or large assembly operationsAPICS, CPIM, or similar supply chain certificationsExperience with modular/engineered-to-order manufacturingLean manufacturing and continuous improvement experienceExperience managing materials for mission-critical products or high-stakes customers Additional Eligibility QualificationsMust have dependable transportation and valid driver’s licenseMust have clean background check and consent to random drug screening consent.
