This position supports post-site survey validation, engineering documentation review, installation oversight, and technical verification activities.\n\nThe Implementation Engineer ensures each site is install-ready, technically compliant, and properly documented prior to and during installation. The position requires close coordination among Program Management, Engineering Services, Technical Operations, vendors, and site personnel to ensure compliance with FAA standards and safe continuity of air traffic operations.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nEngineering Design & Technical Review\nReview equipment placement, telecommunications services, radio interfaces, legal recording connections, and workstation configurations.\nAssist in position mapping and integration planning.\nConfirm configuration compliance with VoIP-based VCS architecture.\nDocument discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.\n\nPost-Site Survey & Field Execution Support\nValidate Vendor Site Survey Worksheets (SSWs), Site Survey Reports (SSRs), and Site Installation Plans (SIPs) for accuracy and completeness.\nCoordinate with FAA Program Office Facilities KP, Engineering Services, Technical Operations, Air Traffic, and vendors.\nIdentify site remediation requirements and track actions to install-ready status.\nEnsure technical data aligns with approved system architecture and FAA standards.\n\nInstallation Oversight & Execution Support\nProvide on-site technical oversight during installation.\nVerify power, grounding, and network readiness.\nSupport technical cutover activities.\nEnsure installations meet FAA compliance and documentation requirements.\n\nReporting & Documentation\nProvide timely inputs to site execution reports, installation oversight records, and disposition documentation.\nSupport preparation of deliverables requiring technical verification entries, installation coordination records, and final disposition completion documentation.\n\nSkills Required:\nAssociate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).\nMinimum 10 years of progressive experience as an electronics technician supporting complex communications, radar, or mission-critical systems.\nDemonstrated experience performing power, cabling, and interconnect verification in operational environments.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation plans.\nStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in safety-critical environments.\nProficiency using test equipment (e.g., multimeters, cable testers, continuity testers).\nU.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\n\nSkills Preferred:\nPrior experience supporting FAA, DoD, or other Federal aviation or critical infrastructure programs.\nFamiliarity with Voice Communication Systems (VCS), VoIP-based communications, or air traffic control support systems.\nExperience supporting system cutovers, decommissioning, or legacy system disposition activities.\nOSHA safety training or equivalent field safety certifications.\n\nWork Environment & Travel\nWork is primarily performed on-site at FAA facilities across the NAS, with additional work at contractor or integrator facilities as required.\nPosition requires frequent nationwide travel to FAA sites in support of surveys, remediation, installation readiness, and disposition execution.\n\nAdditionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.\n\nThe salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000.
