Accounts Payable SpecialistEmployment Type: Full‑Time, 40 hours per weekWork Model: 100% in office, with flexibility for appointments and weather related incidentsCompensation: $45,000 - $55,000/yearPosition OverviewThe Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing day‑to‑day accounts payable operations, including invoice entry and coding, payment processing, vendor reconciliation, and annual tax reporting. This role supports the broader finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting with audits and special projects. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable ProcessingEnter vendor invoices for approval and ensure accurate general ledger codingDownload invoices from vendor portals and websitesProcess weekly vendor payments and record automated payments in the general ledgerPrint and process weekly patient refundsReconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepanciesPrepare annual 1099 reportingMaintain petty cash and support compliance with applicable regulatory guidelinesPerform additional duties as assignedCollaboration & Process ImprovementCollaborate with members of the finance team and other departments to support organizational initiativesProactively identify issues and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyCommunicate concerns or process gaps to department leadershipManage workload effectively, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate responsible financial stewardshipQualificationsEducation & ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of related accounts payable experienceExperience with accounting systems such as Sage IntacctKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tablesStrong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and reasoning skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong ethical standards and commitment to confidentialityWork Environment & CultureThis organization is a mission‑driven, not‑for‑profit healthcare environment committed to serving its communities.
