Job Description Private Swim InstructorAbout the Opportunity:Private Swim Instructors have the power to change lives. What you teach isn't just about stroke technique, blowing bubbles or using a kickboard. It's about building confidence, overcoming fears, and having fun while in the water. It's about developing a skill that can not just change a life, but save it.What you'll be doing:Teach private & semi-private lessons (children and adults)Schedule private lessons directly with participantsBe a role model for water safetyWork with participants to set and achieve goalsEmbrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/AccountabilityWhat you bring to the table:Experience in swim coaching or teachingAbility to follow an emergency action planFriendly, professional, patient and empatheticTeam playerCPR/AED and first-aid certifiedWhat we offer:Pay rate: $18-$27/hour (depending on type of lesson, credentials of instructor, level of instruction)Free JCC membership & discounts on programs and servicesGreat culture, great teammates, great work environmentBeautiful campus on 43 acresWork ScheduleVariable including afternoons, evenings and weekendsWork EnvironmentExposure to chlorinated water of varying temperatures, outdoor weather elements including high temperatures and bright sunlight, wind, light rain. Must be able to visionally see and hear swimmers and tolerate noise. Must be able to enter/exit pool using ladder and lift up to 50 lbs (and/or assist with lifting greater weights).
