Our company mission is to provide custom precision manufacturing and innovative services to medical, aviation, space, defense, and emerging high-tech industries.\n\nThe WELDER/MACHINE OPERATOR role is responsible for doing various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. As work fluctuates, the WELDER/MACHINE OPERATOR may operate a variety of CNC machines, Swiss machines, manual turning machines and perform a series of machining operations as defined in the job routings such as turning, boring, threading, and facing on metal and plastic work pieces.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nInterpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.\n\nWeld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.\n\nClamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.\n\nDetect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.\n\nOperate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as tig welding, gas tungsten arc, shielded metal arc welding, and laser beam welding.\n\nOperate acetylene torches for cutting, welding, and brazing.\n\nMonitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.\n\nExamine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.\n\nRecognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.\n\nLay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding. Inspect completed welds using precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.\n\nPerform basic machine/equipment maintenance on assigned equipment.\n\nComply with company programs including ISO, FDA, GMP (good manufacturing practices), 6S program, Lean Manufacturing, etc.\n\nOther miscellaneous duties as assigned.\n\nResponsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.\n\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; minimum 2 years of welding experience and trade school education.\n\nKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES\nUnderstanding of Welding equipment and the different processes; Able to pass a 6G aerospace pipe test (within 60 days of hire); general knowledge of manual machining (chucker, engine lathe, manual mill); understanding of deburring tools.\n\nTIG Welder Certification\n\nKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.\n\nAbility to read blueprints.\n\nAbility to weld; Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and other alloys as needed.\n\nAbility to use inspection equipment.\n\nProficient in assigned welding techniques.\n\nCORE VALUES\nPeople – We can do it\nInnovation – We work together\nService – We honor our word\nQuality – We do what’s right\n\nMonday - Thursday 3:30PM - 2:00AM + overtime\nBase hourly pay plus 15% shift pay\nNon-exempt (hourly)\nBenefits Eligible position (Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, profit sharing, holiday pay, PTO)\n\nMetal Craft and Riverside are Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employers.
