This position involves work on weekends, holidays, standby, and overtime, with potential travel over 50%. It is a safety-sensitive role.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nInstall, repair, and maintain poles; use electronic test equipment; interpret blueprints and staking sheets.\n\nInstall and inspect aerial and underground cables, analyze test results, locate faults.\n\nSet up customer services, install and test equipment.\n\nAccess various sites using bucket trucks, climbing poles, or entering tunnels and trenches.\n\nString and pull cables, dig trenches, and perform related tasks following industry and RUS standards.\n\nFollow design instructions, maintain project scope, and adhere to safety procedures.\n\nInterpret records and maps of underground and aerial telecom facilities, make recommendations for construction changes.\n\nParticipate in engineering, permitting, and construction processes.\n\nRecognize and repair route issues, fill and tamp holes.\n\nQualifications\n\nExperience with construction equipment like digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, etc.\n\nPole climbing certification.\n\nAbility to lift up to 75 pounds, work in all weather, confined spaces, heights.\n\nAvailability for on-call, days/nights, weekends, holidays, overtime.\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, ability to pass DOT certification, obtain/maintain CDL.\n\nWillingness to travel up to 50%.\n\nStrong time-management and documentation skills.\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nOSHA 10-hour safety certification, Buck Squeeze, proficiency with construction equipment.\n\nThis position follows a union bidding process.\n\nPhysical and Visual Requirements\n\nAbility to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive hand actions.\n\nVisual and auditory capabilities to perform job duties safely.\n\nExposure to various environmental conditions and hazards.\n\nBenefits\n\nMedical, Dental, Vision insurance\n\n401K, Health & Flexible Savings Accounts\n\nLife and AD&D insurance, educational assistance, legal and auto insurance, and more.\n\nMore details at https://windstreambenefits.com\n\nWindstream is an equal opportunity employer.
