In this role, you’ll be the go-to partner for prototype builds—making sure the right parts are ordered, tracked, staged, and documented so our engineering and prototype teams can build, test, and improve fast.If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaborating across teams, you’ll fit right in.What You’ll DoYou’ll support prototype builds by ensuring materials are available, accurate, staged, and traceable—from the first request through build completion.On a typical day, you’ll:Coordinate and track prototype material orders from initial request through delivery to support on-time build events.Review and interpret engineering BOMs and prototype build lists to identify material requirements, sourcing needs, and long-lead items.Partner with engineering, procurement, and suppliers to expedite orders, resolve shortages, and manage substitutions.Maintain accurate records for prototype materials including purchase orders, receipts, part traceability, and inventory transactions.Kit, label, and stage materials for prototype assembly and testing—ensuring completeness and accuracy.Provide regular material status updates to project teams, flagging risks and recommending mitigation actions.Support prototype logistics including incoming inspection, shipping, and proper storage of sensitive or high-value components.Coordinate with the prototype shop and technicians so material readiness aligns with scheduled build activities.Participate in build reviews and lessons-learned meetings to improve material flow and efficiency.Assist with documentation and reporting for cost tracking, traceability, and parts list accuracy for pre-production builds.Hands-On ResponsibilitiesThis role includes physical and shop/warehouse-adjacent support:Physically move and stage parts for prototype builds, including organization of shelving and assembly kits.Help pull parts from the warehouse for Engineering COs.Document parts used during pre-production builds.What We’re Looking ForRequired:High School Diploma or equivalent (technical or business training is a plus)2+ years of experience in material coordination, logistics, or prototype support in a manufacturing/engineering environmentStrong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detailProficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teamsForklift/material handling experience (or willingness/ability to learn)Nice to have:Familiarity with prototype processes, part documentation, and engineering change managementSafety-Sensitive Designation:Jobs which involve one or more tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others are considered safety-sensitive.
