About the Role
We are seeking a skilledOperations & Maintenance Technicianto support plant operations at a peaking power facility. This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting plant equipment while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Start and operate plant equipment as required for testing and dispatch
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance using CMMS systems
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment
Calibrate instruments and devices using appropriate test equipment
Maintain logs, records, and work orders accurately
Support administrative functions such as inventory tracking, scheduling, and documentation updates
Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant and work areas
Assist with outage planning, warehouse operations, and special projects
Technical Requirements
Understanding of control loops, relay logic, and motor controls
Familiarity with DCS and turbine/generator control systems
Knowledge of electrical protective relaying
Ability to use power tools and precision instruments
Experience inspecting electrical equipment and recommending repairs
Capability to install, troubleshoot, test, calibrate, and maintain plant electrical systems
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience in power plant or industrial environments
Hands-on experience with Digital Control Systems (DCS)
Electrical and instrumentation experience in industrial settings
Strong troubleshooting skills for plant equipment and systems
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Work in hot and cold environments
Lift up to 50 lbs
Work in confined and elevated spaces
Ability to wear respirators and pass a physical exam
