This opportunity will have you working within our education project construction sector. The education team provides services to K-12 as well as higher education institutions nationally. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier educational facilities for our nation’s youth and adults seeking to better themselves through learning.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs moderately complex structural engineering work to include the preparation, analysis and review of design plans, specifications, estimates and reports to comply with guidelines\nset by both federal, state and local agencies.\n\nPerforms contract administration in the review of structural services required of engineering consultants and architects and make appropriate revisions and recommendations.\n\nPrepares structural design plans and specifications, quality assurance plans, conceptual and detailed cost estimates and other reports necessary for the construction, maintenance and operation of various concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, metal, timber structures and other related materials.\n\nAssists in the review of project status, initiates changes and provides advice and assistance to structural designers and other engineering and design staff.\n\nAssists in the review of structural plans and specifications, design and mathematical calculations in the completion of structural engineering projects and assignments as well as creating cost and expenditure requirements for alternate means of construction.\n\nAssists in the review of completed structural work for conformance to recognized standards and feasibility of construction as well as completeness and accuracy.\n\nAssists in the design and layout of foundation, floor, wall and roof framing plans for major building structures.\n\nMakes recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers and construction inspectors on structural issues during construction.\n\nAnalyzes environmental impact reports, negative declarations and soils tests data to make appropriate recommendations for foundation design.\n\nPrepares feasibility reports and preliminary design for proposed structures and facilities under construction.\n\nPerform site investigations and prepare scoping reports and recommendations.\n\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\n\nKnowledge & Skills Required: Strong organizational and project management skills.\n\nStrong analytical skills to evaluate technical aspects of projects.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nProficient in preparing and reviewing technical reports and documentation.\n\nKeen attention to detail in reviewing engineering reports and compliance documentation.\n\nAbility to track lessons learned and apply them to future projects.\n\nAbility to respond effectively to requests from internal teams and stakeholders.\n\nStrong customer service orientation to support project teams and facility operations.\n\nRequired Education and Experience: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with specialization on structural engineering courses.\n\nMinimum of three (3) years full time paid professional experience in structural engineering.\n\nPrior experience on school building construction is preferred.\n\nPossession of a Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) recognized by the State of California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists is preferred.\n\n#LI-NH1\nCumming Group is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunity in its personnel policies and practices.
