JOB SUMMARY: The Designer 2 position requires the advanced knowledge of using AutoCAD and
basic 3D modeling experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred) to create drawings of buildings used in
the telecommunications industry. Candidate will undergo training to increase proficiency using Inventor
modeling software. Knowledge of building construction and the ability to read prints is essential.
Additionally, the Designer 2 would interface with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to build
and maintain Bills of Material (BoM) to create manufacturing work orders used construct Thermo Bond
shelters. The Designer 2 would work with the Sales department and the customer to develop the
detailed drawings necessary to communicate requirements, as well as potential customer changes, to
manufacturing personnel.
REPORTS TO:
Engineering Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interface with Sales personnel to develop initial prints from customer specifications, develops
additional iterations of prints based upon customer and TBB staff feedback, ultimately providing
a final design.
Develop prints of TBB production facilities for modification as TBB needs evolve.
Works closely with Integration, Electrical and Engineering to verify print detail.
Works closely with Purchasing regarding material options for project specific requirements.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years’ experience in mechanical and electrical drafting.
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
Basic 3D modeling experience using SolidWorks, Inventor (preferred), or equivalent.
Well-developed communication and organizational skills.
Ability to be effective with limited supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree in drafting or equivalent experience.
TRAVEL AND HOURS OF WORK: This position normally requires the individual to be physically
present at one or more TBB manufacturing location Monday through Friday as deemed necessary.
This position may require occasional travel.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This position is a full time, salaried position that does not require
hourly time reporting and is eligible to participate in Thermo Bond vacation, medical, 401K and life
insurance programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including but not limited to):
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
Able to lift/carry 15 lbs.
